Dermal Fillers

Rejuvenate in only 30 minutes!
Collagen and elastin are proteins that make up the supporting structure of our skin, responsible for its rigidity and elasticity. As we age, those two proteins are not replaced by new ones – they deteriorate, which leads to the appearance of wrinkles and furrows. Our skin cells lose the ability to produce hyaluronic acid. Consequently, our skin loses its moisture, rigidity, volume, and elasticity, and that is when wrinkles form. Wrinkles can be removed quickly and efficiently in a single treatment, with no consequences whatsoever, by injecting hyaluronic acid. Here in ŠkodaDENT, we use the latest generation of hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Human skin naturally contains hyaluronic acid, but over time and in the process of aging, the skin’s ability to produce it declines, and is eventually lost. Hyaluronic acid has the unique ability to attract and retain water, so when injected into the skin, it increases in volume, fills the wrinkles and hydrates the skin. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers are produced synthetically, of non-animal origin, biocompatible and injected easily. Their duration depends on the thickness of the filler, from 9 to 12 months. Considering that the breakdown of the hyaluronic acid depends on an enzyme called hyaluronidase which is also naturally contained in the human organism, duration of the filler is highly individual, so in some cases, it can last much longer than average.

How is the filler injected into the skin?

Before the filling, anesthetic cream is applied on the treated area. During the procedure it is additionally anesthetized with ice. The filler is gently injected with a small needle, and the whole procedure lasts about 30 minutes. Possible but rare side effects (mostly appearing when it comes to sensitive types of skin) such as redness, swelling and bruises disappear in a couple of days. Those can also be easily concealed with make-up and don’t restrain patients from performing their everyday tasks and activities.

What areas can be filled?

Virtually any area of facial skin and neck. Treating these areas can postpone the need for chirurgical interventions (furrows around the mouth and under the nose, forehead furrows, vertical and horizontal, lips – lip line with or without the augmentation of a lower and upper lip, tiny wrinkles around the mouth, wrinkles around eyes…).
